Bag Break-In Methods:
New bags & fabric are stiff. I personally use 1 of 4 different preferred break-in methods:
Just Throw Em' - Just throwing the bags takes the longest, but it is a tried and proven method. The fabrics & seams will relax after repeated use and the resin will break in from the constant hitting and sliding up the boards.
Hot Water Soak - I use this method if a bag already feels pretty good in new form and not wanting to take them to far. I use a small cooler and soak the bags in hot tap water (about 120 degrees) for about an hour. Toss the bags in a pillow case or laundry bag and tie it up. Let them tumble on Low heat or No heat for an hour. - Finish them up by tossing on the boards.
White Distilled Vinegar Soak - I use a small cooler or bowl. Add enough hot tap water to cover the bags. Add 1 cup of white distilled vinegar to the hot tap water in the bowl or cooler and mix up. Add the bags and let them soak for 1 - 2 hours depending on how much you want to soften. Rinse bags out thoroughly, toss in a pillow case or laundry bag and tumble in dryer on Low or No heat for 1 hour - Finish them up tossing on the boards.
Toss Sauce - You can't go wrong with their product and it is tried and proven. I personally recommend just using low heat in the dryer with a Pillow case or Laundry bag to dry the bags after soaking.
One thing for sure is everyone has their own method to breaking in new bags. Try some different methods and see what works best for you. Whatever you decide - Please do not Boil your bags. Certain fabrics and resin will not like the heat and can actually shrink a bag. Fabric damage will not be warrantied - Only template seams, closing seam, or workmanship error.
